  • Daughter of Leto and Zeus, sister of Apollo
  • Artemisia is derived from the goddess, which means genus of several plants
  • She was worshipped as second deity in Greek cities, but was number 1 in Asia Minor (now Turkey)
  • Diana is her Roman name
  • Artemis is her Greek name
  • Patronized by mothers in labor
  • Symbols: elephant, bee, clouds, crescent moon, turquoise, quartz, and iron
